Rhea (Can. CH. Dallenlee’s Mahogany) and Cinnamon (Can. CH. Dallenlee’s Cinnamon Spice) were our first two show bitches from the Dallenlee Kennel, out of Montreal and they are the foundation of our breeding program.

Unfortunately, we lost Rhea at the early age of three during surgery to alleviate an intestinal blockage. She was a beautiful dark brindle bitch with a wonderful personality. She finished her Canadian Championship quickly and was bred to CH. Marquam Hill’s Traper of Turo. Rhea produced a litter of four and among these pups was our first homebred Champion, Canadian CH. CinnRhee’s Teacher’s Pet.

The loss of Rhea was devastating. She was such a character and we missed her so but little did we realize then this was just the beginning of some very poor luck.

Cinnamon, Rhea’s full litter sister also finished her Canadian Championship in grand style and her second breeding was also to CH. Marquam Hill’s Traper of Turo. From this breeding came our SHOOTER, Can./Am. CH. CinnRhee’s Mug Shot. Cinnamon was to become the matriarch of our household and in her later years she was fondly renamed ‘Nana’. Cinnamon had a very special place in our hearts. Toward the end of her life she was instrumental in helping Margaret through a very trying time. During a lengthy hospital stay for Margaret, Cinnamon, at the age of ten began to fail. On the day Margaret was being discharged from the hospital our vet called to inform me that Cinnamon was going down hill very quickly and didn’t have much time. I hurried and picked up Margaret and raced straight to the clinic. Cinnamon was so weak she was unable to greet us in her usual manner but it seemed that her tail wagged harder than it had ever wagged before. Marg and I always believed that Cinnamon had waited to make sure Margaret was going to be alright before leaving us. What a GREAT, GREAT bitch.
