SHOOTER really was the sunshine of our lives. He was whelped July 30 1986. His Dam was Can. CH. Dallenlee’s Cinnamon Spice and his Sire was Am.CH. Marquam Hill’s Traper of Turo.
From the very beginning both Margaret and I knew we had something special and at eight months old Shooter took his first points at Detroit Kennel Club going W.D., B.W., and B.O.S. for his first American points under Mrs. Jane Forsythe. Equally as exciting as this first win was the fact that he was owner handled and that was the beginning of my handling career.
A month later he entered his first Canadian show, Kent Kennel Club going all the way to Best Puppy in Show. In our estimation that was a super beginning and the end of his career was just as spectacular. Our goal for 1995 was to win the veterans class in all three Specialty Shows beginning with Boxer Club of Canada, Western Ontario Boxer Club, and finishing with Northern Ontario Boxer Club which we did, but the icing on the cake came during the Boxer Club of Canada Regional Specialty Show which was sadly to be his last show. Shooter took Best of Breed at the ripe old age of nine and a half over a strong group of young contenders. Shooter ended his career on a high just as he had begun it, taking many wonderful wins along the way and left us quietly in May of 1996 two months shy of his tenth birthday.
He sired four American Champions and numerous Canadian Champions and we are proud of the legacy he left behind.
